Chevrolet Repair/Transmission leak

Question
Hello. I have a leaky transmission and have tried and failed to stop it. It leaks out of the pan on one side so I tried a new gasket and the same leak. I bought a brand new transmission pan thinking that the old one was warped and a new gasket and the same leak on the same spot. If the transmission itself has a indention or an unflat spot, how would I go about fixing it. This is on a 1992 Chevy PU 2 wheel drive 4.3 liter automatic. Thanks. Rick

Answer
The leak may not be coming from the pan area at all. It may be dripping down the side of the case where the transmission lines connect to the transmission or it may be leaking from the transmission pump area which is where the transmission bolts to the engine and is dripping down from the pump seal and flowing around the trans pan gasket.

These two leak areas are very common.
