Question
I have a 1940 dodge with a chevy 350 chevy motor slightly beefed up, it has a 400 automatic Trans with a 38 stall. Would that stall be causing the car temp. to run high while just crusing around town, many stop lights ect. ?

Also how do you check the temp. gage to see if it is correct?
Thank you

Answer
Hi Richard... i use an old meat thermometer, set it right where temp sensor is....if heating up when in town, how are you cooling the rad. 3 blade fan or 5 or 7. is it a clutch fan or direct. i would try a 7 blade direct, you can get at any performance shop...if thats not enough try an electric fan in front of the rad to help push air thru...those trucks were not made to allow for great air flow in the front...hope this helps...merry christmas
