Question hello, my mothers car is having a problem, when you open the drivers door there is a chime that goes off. its the same one where if you open the door and the lights are still on or the key is still in the ignition. but, no key or lights on. do you know what could be causing this? thank you.
ps by the way my moms car is 98 saturn sl, not a chevy but still GM. (nobody on saturn page)
thanks again
Answer Hi Michael, This to me like a bad ignition lock cylinder. There is a part in the cylinder that tells when the key is in and I think it is stuck in the position where the key is in. So with the key out it stills reads it as being in the ignition.
