I have a '93 Chevy 3500 with 454. Mine idles high also I came across this advice from repair pal "Idling problems due to vacuum leak in throttle body gasket   RepairPal Verified

An engine vacuum leak may develop from the throttle body gasket causing a higher than normal idle speed."

Gasket is cheap if it's not the problem.
