I replaced the water pump and thermostat on my 97 tahoe, could still smell coolent. found that the heater hose at the top of intake manifold was leaking.bought a new screw in fitting at the local auto parts store for under 10 dollars. thought all was good seemed easy enough!went to remove old part with a socket just started to loosen and the threads twisted off inside intake. spent time to remove broken threads and ran a tap to clean up threads for new part. so much for a 5 min job but it all worked out in the end!!!
