Question
How envolved is it to remove the head on a 1998 chevy cavilier? I have a striped spark plug hole and was told I would be better off getting a redone head to replace it. What all is attached to the head if any thing? I realy can't afford to have a machanic do it so how can I. What has to be done?                         Thanks Robyn

Answer
Hi Robyn, There is no need to remove the head for this repair. I have installed many incerts into spark plug holes because of this. There are many kits out there that you can buy to do this. Check out this link to see what it looks like, and get one that is just like this one...http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=egnsearch.asp&N=400304+303920

After you ream out the plug hole, if you a air hose blow out the inside of the cylinder. If not start the engine and let it run for 15-20 seconds to blow out the metal pieces. Now you can install the insert and the new spark plug.

Hope this helps you out!!
