Question
I have a 1988 camaro with a tune port 305.  The air condition works surprisingly
well, however, no matter if I am sitting idling or going 80mph the motor will
start to over heat if the air condition is on.  I have an aftermarket electric fan
that keeps my engine way cooler than it needs to be if the air isn't on, and my
thermostat isnt stuck shut. Do I need a thermostat that opens at a cooler
temperature? or is it something else???

Answer
Hi Nick...couple things to check....air flow thru the rad...are rad fins plugged. is water pump working properly, IE: enough flow....any kinks or blockade in hoses...a cooler thermostat may help but once it is open temp should remain constant regardless what temp thermostat you have if everything working properly. also check to see if you may have head gasket leaking that is putting compression into the cooling system... hope this helps
