Question

 hi, i send to get atapping noise when car is moveing it sounds  like it is comeing  from inside the trans can you tell  me what it is

    also i seem to have a gas problem the car is suppost to get  20 city and 29hwy but it seem to burn to much i don't see smoke comeing out of exhust it also have a slite popping sound from exhust when it idle can you tell what that is from

Hi Tim,
Popping out the exhaust is often from an exhaust valve sticking, or even burnt if it always pops.
That would explain bad gas mileage also.

I would look at the "U"joints first to check the tapping. Not only for wear and slack, but something like a parking brake cable touching the driveshaft or u joint.

Any chance it is leaking some gas out on the ground somewhere?
