Question
i have a 1988 monte carlo ss and the ignition switch went out. i have the new one but i dont know where to start to change them. can u guide me on how to do this?

Answer
First you need a steering wheel puller and then you need the special tool for removing the BLACK STEEL lock plate from inside the steering column in order to access the ignition switch.

I can e-mail you a schematic of the steering column showing you the procedure but you will have to contact ma at;

meperganfortis@msn.com

As this website is NOT mine and it does not allow pictures.

I also need you to tell me if you have a TILT STEERING WHEEL or NOT and please resend the make-year and model of your vehicle when you contact me.
