Answer
Hi Christy,
Lets see...bought for 9, used for how long? Did some minor repairs and wear items, and might sell for 21.  Mistake??
If you can get the 21, sounds like a good profit.
Otherwise, keep running it.

Quart a month....but how many miles?  80, or 1200? A quart for 80 miles would be kinda much, but if you are running quite a bit, that may not be too bad.
You didn't mention what year and make it is, but some Chevies just need the valve guide seals replaced, which can be done without removing the heads, and will dramatically reduce oil consumption.

I am still running 85 Chevies in my fleet, and just recently retired a 83 which was still going strong.

I have been maintaining a fleet of approximately 55 light, medium and heavy vehicles for over 20 years. Most are 4X4 pickups and off road fire fighting trucks. Some medium duty trucks. Some military light trucks. I can answer most questions concerning 4X4 engine, drive line, suspension, electrical, and fuel, both diesel and gasoline. Ford, GM, and Dodge, old and new, but prefferably not newer than 99.
