iI HAVE A 350 CHEVY MOTOR THAT HAS BEEN REBUILT ABOUT 1000 MILES AGO,IT HAS FLAT TOP PISTONS WITH 305 HEADS,WITH 160 OR 180 SOMETHING VAVLES SO THE MAN TELLS ME.IT HAS A HIGH ENERGEY COIL. THERE IS NO SMOKE COMING FROME THE EXHAUST, BUT PLENTY COMING FROM THE VAVLE COVER BREATHER. NO LEEK AROUND THE CARB OR INTAKE THAT I CAN FIND. PCV IS GOOD ,THW PLUGS WERE GOOD NO OIL. HAVE NOT RUN COMPRESSION TEST YET. SEAMS TO RUN GOOD MAKES A LITTLE NOISE IN THE EXHAUST AT HIGHER RPM. PLEASE HELP.

Answer
Hello LJ, There are 2 things that will cause this to happen. The first is the wrong or bad PCV valve or good vacuum to it. The last is piston ring blow by, which you shouldn't have with a rebuilt engine.

Check the pcv and the breather

Hope this helps
