Question
Hello, After reseaching th700R4 transmissions, I narrowed it down to looking for a 1988 to 1992 th700R4. Was told by a trans specialist that the camaro with the 350ci has the heavier duty interal parts, Is this true only for the camaro or should I also be looking for one from a Blazer, Yukon or any 2WD GM pick-up with the 350 or larger engine. Also if I find one, could I know for sure by looking at number on the transmission case. Thanks, Phil

Answer
Hi Philip... the only differance in a factory 700r4 is one with or without a towing package, the thing you need to look for is one that has towing package and short tailstock, like the camaro/firebird.if you know what car/truck you are removing the trans from the VIN# will tell you if it came with towing package or look to see if it came with factory installed hitch....hope this helps
