Chevrolet Repair/vacuum problem??

Question
Hello Van,
I have  a 88 S-10 2X4. If I pump the brake pedal the idle will change up and down as I do so, is it possible the booster is bad?
Also, I have a code 32 which is very inconsistant, could it be related to the booster? The EGR and EGR switch check out okay.

Thanks,
Jeff

Answer
Hi Jeff,
Actually, as you pump and release like that, it will dump some vacuum when working correctly, but depending on how fast you pump, yours just may use too much.
You should not be able to hear air moving down by the brake pedal if you hold steadily on the pedal.

I have been maintaining a fleet of approximately 55 light, medium and heavy vehicles for over 20 years. Most are 4X4 pickups and off road fire fighting trucks. Some medium duty trucks. Some military light trucks. I can answer most questions concerning 4X4 engine, drive line, suspension, electrical, and fuel, both diesel and gasoline. Ford, GM, and Dodge, old and new, but prefferably not newer than 99.
