Chicago Bears/Chicago Bears Future
Expert: John Miller - 4/30/2004
QuestionTo think 5 more months,
i feel like the season is about to kick off.
Im not big on College football How is Harris, and 2nd rounder DT.. forgot his name. is he any good?
we're still picking up WR, gives you a clue that maybe Terrel wont be around much longer?
Couch? Warner? Collins? who would you bring to the bears if you had the choice? if any...
Couch for a third round doesnt sound too bad, and from the news it sounds like he is interested.
Rex is good, but maybe some extra learning time could never hurt, but then what about the QB we picked up, he sounds like a miller, doesnt do much but knows how to win.
AnswerHarris was probably the best defensive lineman, so that was a good choice if he stays healthy. "Tank" Johnson, the 2nd round choice, has had some problems with coaches and teammates but has almost as much natural ability as Harris. Berrian, the wide receiver, is a better deep threat than anyone the Bears have now, or probably anyone they have had since Willie Gault. Terrell is getting his last chance this year, and if he doesn't produce, he will be gone next year. I don't think the Bears are looking for an experienced QB other than Quinn to back up Rex, and I agree with you that it may be a mistake. Not many QB's play every game, and Rex was hurt last year. The offensive line improvements should help keep him healthy, but I'd be more comfortable with a better backup available.
