Question
A Taiwanese women who is to be pregnant and now in the States would like to know, so she could buy them in the store.

Answer
George,

There are a wide variety of items that can be purchased, most of which are not mandatory.  The best way to find the names of the essential items is to go an internet search for a newborn checklist.

I've added a few links to some here:

Typically, most stores will have a baby section where these items can be purchased, meaning she doesn't have to know the names of everything - she can locate this section and find what she wants.
