Question
I and my husband have been planning for a baby for the past
7 months.I have noticed that my periods have become
irregular after we have started trying. I was never on any
birth control pills.Sometimes they come almost 45 days late
or in some months they come as early as 26 days when i do
not expect them at all.It is becoming difficult to track my
ovulation, sometimes i am not sure if it happens at all.I
am using a basal body temperature & ovulation kits . This
month, I did not even notice any egg-white like mucus & my
basal temperature was 98.08, highest& ovulation tests were
negative. Do u think there is some problem, that i am not
ovulating.what should i do ?..please help me....

Answer
Dugga,

Sometimes the stress of trying to conceive is all it takes to disrupt your cycle.  It sounds like this may be the case.  However, it's also possible that any number of other factors, including hormonal imbalance, fatigue, illness, or poor nutrition could be to blame.

The best course is to talk to your doctor and possibly have some bloodwork done to rule out any hormonal problems.  If there is nothing wrong in that area, then stress is most likely to blame.
