Childbirth/When did I get pregnant?

Question
This is not a current pregnancy question but still on my mind everyday! I was too ashamed to do anything about this until now. My son is getting old enough to ask questions and I want to be able to tell him who his father is with a clear conscience. I had unprotected intercourse with my ex boyfriend Wednesday March 1, 2006. I had unprotected intercourse the following week and the rest of the month with another guy. Both of these using the "withdrawal" method. I have no idea when my last period was as I am irregular. Based on an ultrasound May 22,2006 they gave me a due date of November 23,2006.  They said I was 13 weeks 2 days. When did I get pregnant?

Answer
Hi Krys,

Unfortunately it's too close to call.  Based on the information you gave me, it looks like you conceived in early March.  My guess would be that you conceived March 1, but it is not a definite answer. Because you had unprotected intercourse with two different men that week, either man could be the father.  I would suggest, if possible, having DNA testing done of your son so that this way you know one way or the other as to which man is the father.

Whichever man is the genetic father, the important thing is that you have a beautiful 3yo boy who loves you and who you love very much, no matter who his genetic father is.  I hope you are able to get the answers you are looking for.

Sincerely,
