Question
Just wanted to know that what is the sure shot sign of pregnancy ??

If some lady is pregnant, is it sure that her periods will not be coming ??

regards

Answer
Sushma,

A sure-fire way to tell a woman is pregnant is when the baby comes out;-)

Seriously though, there are women who carry a baby to term without ever knowing they were pregnant.  I actually know one such woman - she delivered in her bathtub alone.  She though she was having menstrual cramps until the baby's head started to crown.

Pregnancy symptoms vary widely - some women have every symptom in the book while others can barely tell.

It is indeed possible to continue to have a regular period throughout pregnancy.

But, typically though, a positive pregnancy test is a very reliable way to determine if a woman is pregnant.  An ultrasound will also show the baby.

Other symptoms, such as morning sickness, weight gain, cessation of the menstrual cycle, etc are not reliable indicators of whether a woman is truly pregnant.

Best,
Catherine
