Childbirth/pain almost one year after ectopic

Question
Hi, in July 08 I was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy. Since it had

ruptured my right tube had to be removed. When I still had a lot of pain in

October, the Gyno decided to have a second surgery to look for scarring. He

did not find any scarring, only a small cyst on the left ovary that he drained. I

am still having sharp pain daily...most nights I have very strong pain. I went

now to a different Gyno (b/c I moved) who found another cyst on the left

ovary (through ultrasound) that he decided to treat with a birth control. The

cyst is gone since and the Gyno said I only feel the pain only b/c I am more

aware of my body since I had that bad experience...I don't feel like anybody

has given me any answers...any idea?

Answer
If you are still having sharp pains, there is still a problem. You may want to see an OB/GYN who specializes in ovary, uterus, and fertility problems. They may be able to catch something another doctor has missed (because that is their specialty).  While it is possible to feel occasional pain after a trauma in that area (I have felt pains in my cesarean section scar for years), having a whole lot of pain and frequently is a cause for concern.

Please let me know if I can help you further or with anything else.

Best wishes,
Helen
