Childbirth/confused!!

Question
ok....I currently asked another adviser but I just wanted to here your thoughts on my confused question.

ok...my last period was oct.3-6. my periods are usually 32-35 average length of time. i had sex with guy number #1 on september 21. and then i slept with guy #2 september 24, october 9th, october 14, and october 22. i took a pregnant test on october 26 or nov.2 and it came back postive. i went to the docter dec.3 and the docter felt my stomach and did a pap smear he told me that I was 8 and half weeks. Then i went back the following week.dec.9 and there was a transvaginal ultrasound done and it showed that i was 9 weeks pregnant. so i guess what i am asking is who might be the father of my child. I am now currently 33 weeks.

Answer
When dating a pregnancy, they count from the first day of your last period, even though you aren't pregnant then. This can be confusing - an ultrasound done Dec 9 showing that you are 9 weeks pregnant doesn't mean that you conceived 9 weeks before - you likely conceived 7 weeks before, which would be around October 21.  As you did not have sex with guy #1 anywhere near when you conceived (and not since your last period), I think it's safe to say that guy #2 is the father of your child.

Since 2004, I have taught childbirth education classes focused on helping couples gain confidence, make decisions for their birth, and give them tools for helping them get the birth they want. Since 2004, I have also attended births in local hospitals as a birth doula (as of 8/10, I have attended 120 births) so I am able to see firsthand what is working in helping couples deal with labor.
