Question
Hi,
I had a cesarean section on 12th Nov 09. I stopped breastfeeding after five weeks. I had normal bleeding after delivery which phased out after about four weeks. About six weeks ago I had what i thought was a period. Then approx three weeks ago had another period so started on the pill - ovranette. Period stopped after normal four days. I then started bleeding again half way through the pill pack for 8 days. It stopped for 3 days and now i have stated bleeding again and have just got to then end of the pill pack. Is this normal? should i be worried?

Answer
Hi Emily,

Breakthrough or irregular bleeding can happen sometimes with Ovranette, and although I don't think you need to be worried, it would be a good idea to give your doctor a call - it might be a matter of tweaking the medication or using a different birth control pill.
