Question
Thank you for your prompt response.my main worry is that could I have conceived in early march and is what I had on 16th march a withdrawal bleed. This is because the baby has no semblance with the person I was with at the end of march.

Answer
Hi Lady,

It was actually a different expert in this forum, Catherine, who answered your first question :)  (I think she's currently taking a break from allexperts right now)

However, I DID find her previous answer to you, and I have to completely agree with her.

If you did get pregnant in February, the ultrasound would have shown that you were closer to 12 weeks instead of showing that you were 8 weeks.  Although ultrasounds can be off by a couple of days in the first trimester, they aren't going to be off by a month.

Babies sometimes pick up genetic information several generations back.  With my own children (I have 5) - 2 of them look like my husband, 1 looks like me, and my 5th child looks very different from anyone in the family!  Also, my husband and I are both tall (I'm 5'8'' and he's 6'2'') and one of my daughters will probably be under 5 feet tall at adulthood - she just picked up some short genes in the family gene pool.

Based on all the information you gave, it is not possible that you conceived February or early March.

I copied and pasted the other expert's answer below for your reference.

Sincerely,

Dorothy H, LCCE

Lady,

You conceived in March, not February.  A fetus on an 8 week ultrasound looks much, much different from a 12 week one, which is what you would have seen had you conceived in February.  You would have ovulated near the end of March as well so the timing fits perfectly.

Best,
Catherine
