Question
I have been a faithful AMC viewer since 1977.  In 1998, I went to work and had two very stressful years teaching and did not tape the show because I just did not have time to watch it.  I missed some stuff that I cannot seem to figure out.
1. what happened to Janet and Trevor?
2. what happened to Mateo's dad?
3. why is David supposed to be in jail?
Thank you so much for your help.  I have been really enjoying being able to watch again and these answers will help.

Hi Tony!  A lot has happened in that time.  Now to answer your questions.
1.  Janet meant up with that lady who she was in prison with before Janet had her face re-done.  The prisoner's name was Sophie.  Sophie ended up really blackmailing Janet for money.  Janet killed Sophie in a warehouse with a crow bar.  Trevor took the blame for it to protect Janet.  Trevor then became a fugitive, running from the law.  It finally ended up that the entire Dillon family went to another place to live to be with Trevor.  So consequently they were written off the show.  (I sure miss them!)
2. Mateo and his father were in a car accident.  Mateo survived, but his father died.  So, Mama Santos has been single since.
3. David....now here is another story.  Ready?  David had Dixie working for him in his office at Pine Valley Hospital.  He got the hots for Dixie.  He managed to have a large amount of the drug Libidozone and dumped it in a punch bowl on the yacht at a party thrown by Ryan and Gillian. This supposedly was an accident!  This drug makes you lose your inhibitions and want sex from ANYONE!  It ended up the whole party on the yacht took this drug in the punch.  A lot happened that night with the guests at the party.  Tad supposedly had sex with Leslie Coulson, which we really don't know for sure if it happened.  Leslie went crazy for Tad....trying to break up his marriage to Dixie.  She was declared insane and was a patient at PV Hospital.  She got loose and is somewhere running free.(Bet she will be back at somepoint!)
Dixie ended up moving out of Tad's house and in with David.
Dixie finally saw David for what he is and broke it off and is now back with Tad.  But David came up on charges for dugging the whole yacht full of people.  And he could have lost his medical license.  Joe Martin wants him out of PV Hospital.  But now David is blackmailing Adam over J.R..
