Chimney & Fireplaces/damper not closing tightly

Question
What do I do for a damper that does not close tightly and allows outside cold air to come in?  It is a Marco fireplace.

Answer
Hi Sanito and thanks for your question. You can try spraying some WD-40 on the damper mechanism to loosen it up. Be advised that even when the damper is closed it will not completely block out the cold air, thats just the way it is designed. Best Regards, Tom
