Chimney & Fireplaces/Chimney Liners

Question
Jim,  Is it OK to use 22 gauge stove pipe instead of stainless steel as a chimney liner?

I'm in a 1980 one story house with a concrete block chimney, lined with your standard ceramic tile.    I am replacing an old cast iron insert with a 10 yr old woodburning insert to augment heating.

I believe a chimney liner to the insert would improve efficiency and draw, and it would be a little safer too.  Dont see any problems in the chimney, but just to be sure.

I can live with a 5-10 year life on the liner....

Answer
Hello Chris, you can use that stove pipe, I do not know how well it will hold up to repeated cleanings (moving it around during cleaning) call you local wood stove store and see if they have any piece's you could buy or finding it on the net (must be same size as the collar of the stove.
hope this helped
