Question
QUESTION: We might purchase a small wood stove, from United States Stove Company "The Log Wood Model 2421" , for our living room, to help with making the house warmer. It says it is EPA exempt. Is that even safe?  What is your opinion on this wood stove model?
 Thank you so much.
  Stephanie

ANSWER: Hello Stephanie, I really do not know any thing about that stove, contact the manufacturer and ask them, try another wood stove store.

QUESTION: Hello James,Thank you so much for answering my question. We thought about venting our wood stove out through the window, (we thought it would be cheaper), but somei=one told us that it really needs to go straight up through the ceiling anf roof to get the very best draw.
Is it ok to put the stove pipe out the window?
thanks!

Answer
Welcome back Stephanie, no you can not go out through a window. But you can go out through a wall and up the out side of your house. I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have.
good luck and keep me posted
James
