Question
Hi I have a woodburing firplace in my house with a chimney and new liner we recently discovered that there was at one time an other woodburing stove connected to the chimney
can this be done? is it safe as long as you only burn one or the other?

Answer
Hello Leslie, I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have and speak to your local building department. IF I remember correctly you can not have heating units on different floors in the same flue.
hope this helped
