Chimney & Fireplaces/Fitting a retaining plate for a woodburning stove

Question
I am in the process of fitting a woodburning stove, and have a plate to insert in the chimney, but I am having a problem with fixing it - do I just use right angled brackets, and if so what do I fix it to - if I fit the brackets first what fixings do I use to screw up from underneath the plate into the bracket - I cannot hold on a bolt!
Cheers
Joe

Answer
Hello Joe, did that plate come with instructions? it sounds like the "plate" is in place of the damper where the liner pipe will go up through?
If so then dry fit it, make a flat bar with a long bolt coming through the middle of the flat bar (this flat bar should fit snuggly in the old damper track/frame), through the plate one on each side and then just tighten it with a wing nut.
should work out.
