Question
Hello,
I have a three year old propane insert that hasn't been lit for 7 months (summer).

I turned the gas on at the 50 gal tank, turned the gas valve on the insert to "Pilot", pressed the and held the button in and held a flame where the gas is emitted. No ignition....

I can hear the gas and see it 'blowing' the flame of the lighter I'm using. Does propane go bad w/ time?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Your probably purging air from your line. It may take several minutes to purge all of the air from the line before the gas will appear. Be certain to have the lighter lit the hole time as propane is heavier than air and will fall away and under the pilot hood. If this doesn't work after say three or four minutes, call your supplier. Good luck.
