Chimney & Fireplaces/Installing fireplace doors over uneven surface

Question
I want to install fireplace doors on my fireplace but have a dilemma.  The face of the fireplace is stone and is uneven with gaps between the stones.  Do they make a door with a kit to fill in these gaps or will I have to fill in the gaps myself.  If I have to fill it in, should I use mortar and is there a specific kind of mortar I should use.  Thank you.

Answer
Hello Stacy, Most glass doors come with insulation that fits a track behind the doors you could get move of this (should be able to get it from the manufacture) and just fill in the gaps. as far as cement you could try it you need high temp fireplace cement (home depot/lowes)but it still may crack or you could try a combo of both
hope this helped
