Chimney & Fireplaces/Marco fireplace doors

Question
I have a Marco zero clearance fireplace with outside air into the firebox.  I previously had a Pre-way zero clearance which heated the house very well as it had damper controls and air tight doors.  Pre-way was out of business when we built our new house so we went with the Marco.  I cannot get doors that will not leak an immense amount of air, we use the fireplace for some heating and usually leave it burning when we go to bed, as it has a blower and will put out heat until about 1:00 A.M.  I would really appreciate any info you could give about doors that would seal better. I have looked into replacing it with a zero clearance energy efficient model.  Unfortunately that is cost prohibitive at this time.

Thank you,

Dana

Answer
Hello Dana, you should check with Marco, they will only allow their doors on their fireplace, any other door will and can cause a fire.
do not change their doors unless they say it is ok to do so.
sorry I know this was not what you where looking for
