Chimney & Fireplaces/ZC wood insert

Question
Hello James,
I have a metal ZC fireplace. I want to put in a wood burning zero clearance insert. My problem the small height of my firebox. w28"xD16"H15". Only 15" height i the actual opening. Above the top is another 4" metal with the damper lever in the middle and another 3.5" metal above that. A full extra 7" of metal on the bottom below firebox. The whole thing is cemented in and real river rock and large 25" deep hearth. I wanted to get the Lopi Revere installed but my 15" height is not enough. So I'm told. I don't want gas. Is there a similar application to the Lopi out there that would fit my fireplace? Thanks Eric

Answer
Hello Eric, in order for you to install an insert safely both the insert and metal fireplace must be rated for this type of aplication.
If you "just make it fit, or hack out the metal" you could cause a fire. You should also check with your local building department
hope this helped
