Question
what would be required to install a wood stove in a mobile home
Hi Jason,
Several basic requirements exist. Other requirements, including minimum clearance to combustibles and non-combustible floor protection will apply and will be specific to your stove, your connector piping, your chimney piping and your local Authority Having Jurisdiction.
We recommend all installations meet mfg. recommendations, NFPA 211 Requirements and All Local, State and Federal Building Codes that might apply.
The woodstove must be listed for this type of installation.
It must be bolted to the frame of the mobile home.
It must be grouned to the frame of the mobile home.
It must have an outside air combustion supply.
The chimney penetration must be such that the structural integrity of the mobile home is not compromised in any way.
You must also conform to any local building requirements and the unit should be inspected by a qualified professional and/or a building inspector upon completion.
