Question
I have a chimney with gas coal insert. Can you take a look and let me know if it is ventless or not?

We don't use it but would like to, the chimney was recently capped to prevent a leak. Thanks for any help.

Answer
Hello Bradley, I can not tell but it looks like a gas log set and should be vented. I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they should be able to tell you if it is safe to use this fireplace and flue.
hope this helped
