Question
Hi,
I have an existing fireplace with a traditional liner. Stack has a rooftop damper and cap installed.
I want to install a regular wood stove that i own (not an insert) into it.
* Can this be done?
* Can i use only 5 feet of pipe going up and rely on the existing flue?
* What else do i need to know about this install?

Ken,

Yes, it can be done. I would recommend differing the installation to a professional though. In some areas, you can install a limited length of liner and in others you cant. I would always recommend installing the correctly sized liner all the way to the termination. There is much more info that that must be known before I could say for certain.
