Question
how would you go about installing a woodburning stove into a fireplace?

Answer
Hello Virginia,  I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have. will the stove fit into your fireplace? Do you have proper clearance to combustibles? You will need to line it to at least the first flue tile (i prefer lined and insulated all the way to the top, less build up, easier cleaning, safer). and so much more and a Certified Sweep can let you know if it will work safely.
a wood stove can do a great job of heating a home.
hope this helped
