Chimney & Fireplaces/wood burner

Question
We have a chimney in the middle of the house and a oil boiler has a flue connected to it.
I would like to install a woodburner the other side of the wall in the kitchen and wondered if we can use the same chimney? Is there anything we would need to be aware of?

Answer
Hello Liz, you can not mix liquid and solid in the same flue. I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they can tell you if you can or can't install in the chimney.
