QUESTION: hi i have a wood insert wood stove can i remove it and make it a free standing stove for my garage?

ANSWER: Hi James,

Although some wood stove inserts can be converted to applications as wood stoves, woodburning stoves are not allowed to be installed in a garage.

QUESTION: what if i put the wood stove in my sun porch could i use the insert that way?

Hi James,

If the insert is convertible to a free-standing stove application as per the manfacturer, and you comply with all the clearances to combustibles as well as floor protection and install the appropriate connector piping and chimney, then yes.
