Question
The back and bottom panel in my fireplace has a crack running the entire length of the fireplace. What type of material are the panels made of, where can I find it and is it even possible to replace just them?

Answer
Hello Kbauer, it sounds like you have a Per-Fab fireplace (metal construction) and you may be able to find those replacment panels from a local wood stove store or on the internet. you will need the manucaturer of the unit and modle and serial numbers there is a tag some where insde the nuit, look all around. Now if you have the origianal owners manueal you will have all the info you need to find the manucaturer for replacment parts. I would also have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have they might be able to find the panels and install them.
keep mo posted
