Chimney & Fireplaces/Gas Logs

Question
I'd like to put gas logs into my masonry fireplace.  What are the advantages of vented versus vent free?  Any concerns of either?

Answer
Hello Gary, I am not a big fan of Vent Free logs, speak to your local wood/gas log store (if you buy from local they will service your units if you have a problem, but if you live in NY and buy in CA the NY guy will not work on your units)
I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have and if it is safe to use for either wood or gas.
