Chimney & Fireplaces/Gas starter

Question
I have a woodburning fireplace with a propane gas starter pipe and regularly
use it to light and burn wood.  My wife doesn't like to mess with putting in
wood and wonders whether she can safely just use the gas starter (for an
hour or so at a time) for visible flame (and possibly put some fake glass
embers and a fake ceramic log on the grate) to simulate a wood fire.  I am
concerned that the gas starter pipe may not be designed to take prolonged
heat.  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Answer
Hello Daniel, I am not sure either, contact a local wood stove store and ask them, they might have even installed it.
at the same time you can inquirer about gas logs.
I would also have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have to make sure every thing is working and safe.
