Chimney & Fireplaces/Liner for terra cotta flue for wood stove

Question
I have an 8x8 terra cotta flue that has never been used and was intended for a wood stove. I have now been told there are some cracks in the tiles and mortar joints and must have a liner installed. The terra cotta liner is installed in a masonry chimney, had correct clearances from combustable material and was mortared in. I would think it would be fine for a wood stove given it is mortared in. Your thoughts?

Answer
Hello Joe, yes the masonry would be fine if there are no gaps, cracks or holes if so then have it relined. maybe a second opinion? maybe a video scan? I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have.
