Chimney & Fireplaces/prefab chimney installation

Question
Hello James.

I've just purchased a napoleon wood stove and have to have a chimney installed. I've decided to go with a prefab. I have two places where I could put the stove. One is on a one story addition to the back of my two story house. The chimney would be approximately 12.5 feet from the second story. The second location is on the two story section of the house. Both chimney options are for exterior installation. If I install on the two story section, can the chimney be on an angle? If so, by how much?

Thanks,
Carol

Answer
Hello Carol, a chimney should be as straight as possible, follow the manufactures instructions for installation (you don't say what pipe you are using and it must be rated for a wood stove). Also check with your local building department.
hope this helped
James
