Chimney & Fireplaces/Fireplace draw

Question
I have a Northern facing chimney totally exposed to the outside with a large buck stove insert. This fall I had a stainless steel lining put in to try and fix my problem. It didn't work.   My problem is that everytime the wind is out of the North or Northwest my house fills with smoke. When it is out of a different direction it does not do this. As we know the Northern wind is prevalent in the winter therefore rendering our fireplace useless when we need it the most. What is the next step to try.

Answer
Hello Stan, they do make wind deflection caps that can help, I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have, they should have a line on where to get them.
