Chimney & Fireplaces/Gas Starter vs Fire Starter Products

Question
We have a gas starter for our wood burning fireplace.  Do you think it is more economical to use the gas starter for 10 or 15 minutes, or to buy those fire starter sticks (on sale) and refrain from using the gas at all?

Answer
Hello Laurie, first I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have to be sure the system (gas and fireplace) is safe to use then why not try it both ways and see what you like better?
