what is the material/paint that is sprayed on pine cones that when put in wood burning stove makes them glow in colors? the ones we ahve now have a beautiful blue tone.

Hello Ruth, I am sorry but I do not know what they use, but as a child growing up my mom would let us color shingles with our crayons and when she put them in the fire they would burn every color we used...was lots of fun. (keep in mind we only did one or two per fire and had our chimney cleaned and checked regularly.
