Chimney & Fireplaces/chimney insulation

Question
I had a wall mounted television installed above my fireplace in a home I recently purchased. Should I avoid using the fireplace, or should the walls be insulated enough to not damage the television or wiring?

Answer
Hello Matt, I am not a big fan of TV's over fireplace's (I do not know what you have done with wires or the type of construction you have) if you are going to use the fireplace I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have.
