Question
Hi James thanks for taking my question.I bought a house a few years ago its apx 18 yrs old.It had a gas fired log system in it and I had it removed, all is well except that there is a rectangle whole apx 6x4 in the floor, it looks like it should have some type of cover to cover the whole.Any Ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks
John

Answer
Hello John, it sounds like an ash dump door that is missing, I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have. they might be able to replace it for you.
