Question
A neighbor told us that burning an aluminum can in a wood stove will help remove creosote, is this true or is it an old wives tale?

Answer
Hello Kara, do not burn anything but wood in your fireplace. if you need to have the creosote removed call a chimney sweep (you should be doing this every year) they will be able to recommend a product that can help in addition to their cleanings. (www.csia.org)
