Question
We have recently purchased a 1958 home that has in the den a two door black cast iron stove(?)or grill the door has two circular vents and the words majestic stove company. the top grate looks like an outdoor grill grate and the former owners can only rmemeber cooking steaks on it over charcoal when they were growing up. It has a copper hood and damper ain the hood and it is placed at counter level (top of grate). I am unable to find any information abou this stove and was wondering if you had any. When I google majestic stove I find new/vermont castings type items and the city on it is somewhere in the midwest. (sorry i am not at the house right now) ANy ideas what this is? I plan to have a chimney sweep clean before we use it but wondering if this is a heating or cooking device? Thanks!!

Answer
Hello Beth, do not use this unit until it is is looked at I would have a local Certified Chimney Sweep (www.csia.org, there you can look up by zip code to find one near you) take a first hand look at what you have.
I do not know where you could get info on this unit and if you can not then I do not suggest using it.
Keep me posted
